First things first: in order to have a Tie – Dye Date Night, you actually need a date! Invite your love with the adorable invite Kristin of CdotLove created. There are easy to write on sections as well as a specific sections to request some supplies, like a t-shirt that you want your date to bring. Of course, if you are going to provide the supplies, you can just request that they bring their hot bod! 😉 {Oh and while we’re on the subject… tie dying some sheets might be a fun way to boogie in the bedroom… just sayin’}
Now that you have a date, you need to have a plan! We love a good theme here at the Divas and that theme gets carried into every aspect of the date – even the food! We have an amazing recipe for tie -dye, homemade marshmallows from Studio DIY! We know – it’s totally taking date night to the max! These beautiful marshmallows are perfect for a special s’more, but if they aren’t your thing ,just do a little Pinterest search for tie – dye food and you will find tons of options like tie – dye ice, cake, even cheesecake!
Now for the main event! Get ready to get messy {not actually a requirement if you wear the gloves that are provided in the kit}! We bought a 1-step tie dye kit by Tulip and it was a life saver. You literally only have to add water to a bottle and shake – BAM! Your dye is ready!
To help you decide what type of tie – dye you may want, we have 4 tutorial cards! They each have an example and instructions for how to achieve specific tie – dye looks.
We followed the instructions provided in the kit for dying, setting, rinsing, and washing and our projects came out great! {We did notice that the 100% cotton fabric took the dye really well and kept a brighter color}
While your creations set and you enjoy your tie – dye treats, bust out that To Tie – Dye for Bucket List! This is a fun little way to make a bucket list of different events you and your sweetie want to enjoy with a little twist – you wear your new tie – dye! There are three categories: The Great Outdoors, Cozy at Home, and Out on the Town. What do you want to do to show off these darling new duds?! Some things we put on our list are: camping in our tie – dye for The Great Outdoors, watching one of the most psychedelic movies of 1971 – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – while Cozy at Home, and then we are going to hit up our local disco (ok, ok it’s a Zumba class) for our Out on the Town!
Have so much fun and we’ll catch you on the flip side!
