How to Create the Romantic Chignon from Carolina Herrera F/W 18
We’re giving you the rundown on how to create the look at home, but there’s one thing you should keep in mind as you create the look. According to TRESemmé NYFW Hairstylist Odile Gilbert, “To get the romantic look, it is important not to twist the hair too tight to the head. Keep it loose and don’t worry if some hairs come free.” As long as you take this expert advice, you’re bound to have the romantic chignon of your dreams.
Step 1: Wash hair.
Start by washing hair with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner to create a frizz-free foundation.
Step 2: Protect hair with heat protectant.
Spray TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray to prevent damage and blow hair dry with a paddle brush, letting the natural texture of your hair come through.
Step 3: Part hair and create ponytail.
Part your hair in the center and separate into three sections. Tie a hair elastic around the middle section to create a low ponytail. Twist the two front sections inwards toward the base of your ponytail and secure with bobby pins.
Step 4: Create a loose bun.
Twist the ponytail into a loose bun at the nape of your neck – don’t worry about making it look perfect – and pin in place. For added texture, spray hair with the TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo and tease your ponytail before creating the bun.
Step 5: Set with medium-hold hairspray.
Finish the look with TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hair Spray Hold Boost Level 3 to keep the look in place without creating stiffness. Try more looks from the runway at home. Here’s how to get tousled texture from Jill Stuart.
