Get Heatless Beach Waves In No Time
1. Begin your heatless beach waves with clean hair.
To start off, you want to make sure your hair is squeaky clean. Wash your hair with Love Beauty and Planet Indian Lilac & Clove Leaf Shampoo and Conditioner. We love how gentle and moisturizing this formula is. It leaves your locks incredibly soft with a glossy finish. Oh, and we can’t forget about the sweet lingering scent of clove leaf!
2. Apply a frizz-control serum.
Apply a frizz serum while your hair is still wet. We recommend using Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smoothing Hair Serum. We love this one because it is lightweight and contains keratin, which will seal your hair cuticle and make it smooth and shiny. Did you know touching your hair while it’s wet causes more frizz once it dries? Since you’ll be braiding and handling your hair a lot while it’s wet, it’s super important to use a frizz control serum to eliminate any unwanted flyaways and frizziness. Apply serum starting at the midshaft of your hair and work it through the ends. Follow through with a comb to distribute the product evenly.
3. Braid wet hair to lock in the heatless beach waves.
When you begin braiding your hair, you can start to get a little creative. If you want your hair wavy from root to end, complete a regular french braid down the back of your head. To start the waves in the middle of your head, create a regular braid at the base of your head. For tighter, more voluminous waves from your root to end, part your hair down the middle and create two French braids.
4. Let your hair dry overnight.
Once your hair is braided, we recommend leaving this style in overnight and through the following day. This will allow your hair to dry completely and ensure the style sets into place. Sleeping with your hair in a braid is also a great way to protect it and avoid any friction your pillow may cause. If you aren’t able to leave the braid in the following day, quickly dry strands with a blow dryer in the morning.
5. Let your heatless beach waves free.
When your hair is dry, undo the braid, and run your fingers through your hair to separate the heatless beach waves. This will give you the ultimate beach look! If any pieces need a little touch-up, use a comb to smooth it out, but avoid fully brushing your hair. Brushing it will loosen the waves and create a frizzier appearance.
