5 New Updos for Short Hair
1. Pinned-Back Curls
This short hairstyle adds a lot of retro romance to your look. If you have a curlier texture, add Suave Professionals Luxe Style Infusion Volumizing Soufflé Mousse to enhance your curls and volume. If your hair is more on the straighter side, add in curls by using the rag curl method or by making little pin curls. 2. Twisted Updo
For bobbed ladies, updos for short hair are easier to achieve when rendered with a bit of texture and/or slip. To get this twisted updo, start with damp hair and apply some of the TRESemme Keratin Smooth Serum to your hair for lightweight frizz protection. With air-dried or blown dry hair, brush your hair backwards towards your neck. Starting near your ears, take small sections and twist inwards. Almost like a French twist, keep twisting hair and adding more sections, pinning as you go. Stop when you reach the middle and repeat on the other side. 3. Glam Headband
If time is of the essence but you still want to wear a cute updo, grab your favorite hair accessory: the headband. You can wear it on the top of the crown for an easy pop of shine and color. If you have a little more hair to work with, place your headband an inch or so back from your hairline and twist small sections up and around the headband for a more boho feel.
4. Space Buns
If most updos for short hair are a bit too much, try a more casual look with double buns. This style will work best on hair that’s chin-length or longer. To start, brush hair so there are no knots and create a middle part. Arrange your hair into pigtails just above each ear and secure with a hair elastic. Using a small hair donut, loop hair through the foam in the donut, creating a bun and tuck with pins as needed (or simply create a regular bun). 5. Stacked Updo
Stacked buns are just as easy as they is stunning. Starting on clean hair and your natural texture (it works great on straight and curly hair), brush your hair backwards.
